Sandpiper Vacation Rentals is a full service vacation rental management company. Created in 2008 by father/daughter team, Mark Mitchell and Shannon Turner, Sandpiper was named after their very own family cottage on Savannah Street in Seaside. Their homeowner perspective helped shape the company's customer service driven culture. Family owned and operated, Sandpiper enjoys matching the right guests with the right beach cottage in a quick and painless fashion to allow guests to focus on what really matters...enjoying their time with their loved ones. Mark Mitchell, Owner

As owner of Sandpiper Vacation Rentals, Mark Mitchell is a skilled real estate agent and broker with 15 years experience managing 12 of his own properties, one ofwhich is his Sandpiper cottage in Seaside.

A side job at first, Mark managed his time between his rental properties and his insurance corporation. As president and owner of US Benefit Consultants, Mark specializes in employee benefits, with a concentration in sports insurance; with clients including the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Thrashers, and Atlanta Hawks. For 25 years Mark has excelled at both his consultanting corporation and property rentals.

In 2008, Mark decided to turn his attention to property management in hopes of sharing his knowledge and expertise exclusively with Seaside cottage owners! Mark and his wife Kathleen have two daughters, Shannon and Hayley, both of whom are involved in the business, and a son, Trevor. Mark looks forward to building the family business and enjoys sharing his passion for Seaside with his children.

Shannon Turner, Marketing & Advertising 

Mark's eldest daughter, Shannon, is a graduate of Auburn University with a background in Mass Communications and Political Science. Shannon has enjoyed several exciting careers taking her from New York to Jamaica. As a news production associate for the Today Show, she worked alongside some of the best in the business. Following her time in New York, Shannon moved back to Atlanta to work with Turner Broadcasting Systems as a producer. It was there that she earned an Emmy Award for her excellence in television production.

In addition to her media experience, Shannon also has extensive interactive marketing knowledge and website design skills gained from working with a top international consulting firm in Atlanta. This experience makes her an invaluable resource to Sandpiper Vacation Rentals as she takes our company into the 21st century. Shannon manages everything from owner relations, housekeeping & maintenance management to  mass marketing emails and website development.

Shannon and her husband Matt split their time between Atlanta and Seaside with their two children, Anderson and Sutton. 
 

Brenda Bauhan, Guest Services Manager

A childhood friend of the Sandpiper family, Brenda is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. Brenda worked as a sales professional for the Nation’s largest homebuilder, Pulte Homes for 10 years at which time she gained her real estate license in the state of Georgia.

Brenda has won numerous awards for sales excellence and offers proven customer service skills that make her a natural fit for Sandpiper’s Guest Services role. Her upbeat attitude and problem solving abilities makes her a pleasure to work with and a refreshing voice on the other end of the phone as guests plan their favorite beach vacation. Brenda has quickly become Sandpiper guests’ lifeline to ensure they find the best cottage to fit their particular needs.

Brenda and her husband Steven have two little boys, Oliver and Wesley. Both are beach bums already!

Gina Webster, Operations Manager 

Gina joined the Sandpiper team in 2015 and immediately started putting processes and procedures in place to ensure our maintenance and housekeeping teams run smoothly.

Gina is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she studied business management. Gina comes to us from Universal Orlando Resort where she worked as the Sales and Marketing Manager. She successfully led her team through the restructuring process for the operations of Island of Adventures, Universal Orlando, Wet & Wild Waterpark and Blue Man Group. Gina also coordinated the opening teams for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with crowds of 46k+, Cabana Cay Beach Resort, and worked alongside Stephen Spielberg's production team during the creation and opening of Transformers - The Ride 3D. To say Gina knows how to coordinate operations would be an understatement! 

Gina resides in Panama City Beach with her daughters and grandchildren and enjoys spending time at the beach with her family. 

Ken Andersen, Maintenance Manager 

Ken joined Sandpiper in 2013 as our skilled maintenance manager. Ken oversees our maintenance team and together they have implemented several proactive approaches to keeping Sandpiper cottages in good shape year round. 

A former United States Marine, there is very little Ken can't handle. Ken's background also includes 20 years experience as a certified electrician, a vast knowledge of HVAC and plumbing, and the ability to troubleshoot just about anything you throw at him. Ken spent 7 years with Seascape Resort and various other resorts along the panhandle before joining the Sandpiper team. Ken lives along 30a and is happy to work so close to home! 

Julie Clark, Housekeeping Manager 

Julie joined Sandpiper in 2010 as a housekeeping inspector and has quickly proven herself as an invaluable resource to our housekeepers and our management team. 

Julie is a certified home inspector and received her training through American Society Home Inspectors (ASHI) in Tampa FL 2005. Julie also received a humanitarian award from the mayor of Tampa Florida. She volunteered eight hours each week for five years to help those who could not afford dental treatment. She also ran the Judeo Christian medical clinic (Dental Department). Julie will tell you that was one of the hardest things to leave behind in Tampa Fl.

Julie and her two children moved to Santa Rosa Beach in 1995, purchased a home along 30a and never wants to leave. She knows this is paradise and sees why so many people make it their go-to vacation spot year after year! 
When julie is not working she enjoys her quiet time at the beach or spending time with her family.
